A passion for pillows is the heartbeat of La Maisonette, carefully crafted by the style savvy mother-daughter team, Betsy & Samantha Knapp. The collaboration brings together the best of both worlds as Betsy Knapp’s traditional style mixes with Samantha Knapp’s contemporary flare.

On one end of the spectrum, Samantha Knapp designs with an edge gravitating toward hardware, buckles, grommets, metal hooks and snaps. “I am inspired by clean lines, raw spaces and natural elements. I see potential in those areas, borrow ideas and translate it into a statement for the home,” Samantha Knapp says.

Drawing her influences from three decades of decorating homes from Fairfield County to New York City, Betsy Knapp brings a tried and true eye to the design team. She favors classic elements and traditional motifs that polish off a stylized room.

The 239 East Putnam Avenue storefront location also features a stunning array of antiques, unique home furnishings and accessories. Each piece is hand-picked by the decorating doyennes. La Maisonette is the sister store to Tigerlily’s Greenwich, the upholstery and design studio in the heart of the Cos Cob’s design district.

Home is where the heart is and for the young designer that means returning to her roots to explore a passion that started in childhood. After several years traveling the country as a broadcast news reporter, Samantha Knapp returns to native Greenwich, CT to take the helm at La Maisonette. The sister store to Tigerlily’s her family’s landmark design studio; La Maisonette offers vintage treasures and progressive accessories to complete a decorative home.

From her new headquarters, Knapp debuts her new custom design pillow collection, Knapp Atelier, for purchase and order exclusively through the store and company website.

“Whether it is something simple or highly decorative, I wanted the collection’s hallmarks to be about new, unique construction, textures and design. We have access to everything in the industry so I focused on selecting fabrics and hardware that I have never seen before to really offer our clients something innovation, pure and beautiful.”
